Neuromuscular Disease Centers

Neuromuscular Disease Centers provide very important infrastructure for the application of developing treatments in our country.

Centers are organized a part of an existing hospital building (mostly on center floor. if not, at a floor who has elevator) and include specialists in the field for neurology, cardiology, pulmonology, physical therapy and rehabilitation, nutrition. It is open in a regular period, mostly one day a week. Patients with neuromuscular disease can have their routine checks in a single building and on the same day. As the doctors are together when examining the patient, they also have one-to-one conversations with each other so they have a complete perspective. These better equipped centers create a suitable environment to participate in clinical trials.

In addition to these centers, there is a number of university hospitals that have been working in the field of Duchenne and other neuromuscular diseases. (Ankara – Hacettepe University, İstanbul – Yeditepe University, İzmir – Dokuz Eylul University)
